Poems around the world

I used to travel a lot during the last years and was always eager to meet the spirit of the place I have been visiting.

„May I catch you by a few words?“ I asked .

„I am like a wind and cannot be caught“ was his answer.

„But words are like birds-they like to play with the wind!“ I insisted.

„Ha ha- then give it a try“ He said before turning into a little white bird and flew away.

Moscow

the speed of life is high

the air smells greedy

the water has no blue color

and happiness has the face of a dollar

Tokyo

I-pads walking

Blackberries talking

people knowing how to behave properly

longer than 10 hours a day

and you are getting the sense of

how it feels to be a corporate slave

 Berlin

Your freedom is my passion

You, capital of art and love

Allowing everyone to stay a child

keep the feelings young and wild

Cairo

you enter this bazaar of a million souls

and you feel like you want to grow

to grow and fly over the pyramids

and turn to one of a billion sahara seeds

Sardegna

if the eyes could even once

drink from your beauty

They would never get thirsty again

Barcelona

Tight streets in a body full of crazy buildings

Boats playing music in the ports

You see parrots flying over the palm trees instead of crows

And the joy inside you grows

Come te llamas , preciosa?

How can one‘s heart escape?

The rendezvous between Table Mountain and Lions Head

The Camps bay and its white and full of sand sunset

The black homeless man taking care of the parking of

The fashion model‘s car and calling them „my mam“

Bodrum

A bit dramatic

A bit emphatic and charismatic

Women are strong and full of fire

Men are rough and full of unfulfilled desire

Paris

Hemingway used to say

in Paris is always o.k.

I would add:

This is now not a fact

Glamour based on past

Walt Disney entered Elysee Palais

And if Hemingway would live in our time

He would move to Berlin for a while

Stockholm

the wind is freezing cold

the river dark and full of ice

A blond girl smiles at you once

and makes you think twice

Israel

palm trees are shaking their bodies in Bethlehem

gay priests are praying in Jerusalem

but if you like to catch the kadayif

you better go to Tel Aviv

Milano

the gipsy wants to get some money

the black man is selling bags

a fashion model is walking funny

The vanity takes a little rest

Poland

drunk fellows behaving like supermen

gorgeous girls who know how to say No to them

a mixture of slavic warmth and nordic light

and you recognize the value to be polite

Rome

ciao bella

looking at your proud beauty alive

I am asking you which poem you like:

something from Dante or Leopardi

but first let me take you to the piazza Garibaldi

Oh, Rome, Rome aeterna

do all the roads really lead to you

or is this just a Bellevue
